Yikes!...what color hose??

Well, let's see... My own input... I have and Albannach tartan kilt from USA Kilts. It is very similar to the IoS. I wear purple Lewis Rich hose with that one, and it looks spectacular. Given the similarities in the two tartans, I'd wager that purple would be a killer choice for the IoS as well. As to the Irish National... I'm with Matt on this issue! A pair of yellow hose would look great- the would really make the tartan pop I think. I have a pair of bottle green hose that I wear with my Colorado State tartan kilt, and that is the exact reason- the brighter color really brings out the beauty of the tartan.

I am a big fan of maroon hose.

Makes 2 of us. I just wore a pair out... They go with everything!

And looking at McMurdo's pics... isn't it amazing how different color hose can make the same tartan look like a different one?

For the Irish National, I think bottle green hose with yellow flashes, or yellow hose with bottle green flashes would work well. Both Jock and Nighthawk like maroon hose. I would try maroon hose with either yellow or black flashes. Not sure about the green tie for dress. I would suggest trying it and see how it looks.

As for the IoS, Glen has demonstrated some nice choices. I would suggest following his lead.
