There is no elegant way to do this! Basically, if the sheath is still in your sock, you gently poke about until the sharp pointy thing is safely returned to the sheath.

I feel for the pointed part of the sheath and push upwards towards the top of my hose. When it reaches the top, I re-sheath and push sgian and sheath back down.
