Hey Alex, small World! Spokane is where my father went to sign up for the Royal Air Force after Pearl Harbor. Drove over from Missoula to meet with a "representative" of the RAF.
The RAF recruiter told him he didn't have enough flight time in his log book to enlist. The recruiter suggested he take a pen, go down the hall to a private room and "get some more flight time." My father did just that and was accepted. Practical people in Spokane.
No wonder they wear kilts.
