As was mentioned the Sardis Drum band does have a piper. These kids rock. They have been entertaining huge crowds before and after events at ski jumping, cross country and biathlon. During a shift break between races I was lucky enough to have lunch with a few of the members of the band. They are having the time of their life.

I will post some photos of the band later today.

I heard from a friend of mine that he is practicing for the closing ceremony and he is a piper.

Thanks for that Raphael, and since you raised the issue back when, I should have mentioned that some of the kids in the Sardis High School drumline are Asian!

It will be noted that once again I am not talking about hockey, such as for instance the fact that the Canadian women's hockey team took the Olympic gold last night.

And it should not be added that unfortunately for us, the Canadian Women DOMINATED the game. Hats .....or should that have read...... Bonnets off to them.

I would never think of closing with saying something like...."I only hope that Canada and the USA mens team meet again the the outcome as before. You know with the Americans having a higher score...lol", because saying something like that might get people angry.

My 'honi soit' quote was intended to convey its conventional British meaning, which is that something is only bad if you think that way, and was directed at sports in general, but it has clearly inspired another sort of response. I now see the wisdom of the moderators shining through it all. But may the blessings of all Buddhas and Bodhivastas of all worlds be upon you and your cat and your devil himself. TTFN.
