    Facinating Video.

Several tips I'd like to try in a sporran.
And tools I'd like to have as well!

I made my first sporran about 3 years ago after deconstructing an inexpensive purchased one to see how it was put together. With each new one I look to see how I can do it differently or better.

I'm now only about an hour away from my leather store so it doesn't take me a whole Saturday to get there and back.

    Regards,

    Tom

This one did come up a bit earlier but always fun to see. The earlier thread links to some other interesting clips from the site:

The thing that interested me the most about this, aside from the double-needle technique he used to sew the gussett to the front, is that he was using some incredibly thin leather. I use 4 - 6 ounce for fronts and 8 ounce for rears, and he looked to be using 2 ounce for much of it...

I'm pleased to see the film was well received and apologies for the repost.

I notice from the supporting text on the video page that the sporran-maker appears to have been a teacher from a Glasgow secondary school.

If only we had such diverse and interesting craft lessons when I attended secondary school...
