I would, I would in Lanzarote, and on a boat, and with a goat. I'd wear it here, I'd wear it there, I'd wear my kilt out anywhere.
(With apologies to Dr. Suess)
Best regards,
Jake

I wore my Union Kilts Indi Denim most of the time I was on the neighbouring island of Gran Canaria in 2008. Lots of positive comments and no negatives and the kilt was far more comfortable than the shorts which I wore on one of the days.
At times I am totally confident in wearing my kilt in various places throughout the world but i feel that the kilt would be out of place here in Puerto del Carmen, perhaps if I had another kilt wearer I might be braver

I started wearing a tan Utilikilt to work last summer when we were having problems with the air conditioning. The kilt generates its own breeze when one walks.
I figured if the women could wear unbifurcated garment then so could I! I ordered one and just started wearing it, I didn't ask for permission from management, the heck with 'em. All of my coworkers were waiting for management to say something to me. The first day that I wore it to work some higher ups were there. One of the guys in my department over heard our co-manager asking the visiting marketing team if I was allowed to wear it and was told that there was nothing that they could do about it. I think that they thought it was a woman's dress. My co-worker was mad that they were going to try and stop me from wearing it so he ordered his own Utilikilt. He hasn't had the guts to wear it yet, he's been using the cold weather as an excuse. Ironically, even though he hasn't even tried it on yet, he has ordered a second Utilikilt, in camoflage.

A Sport Kilt would be suitable weight for high temperatures, and if you have the optional pockets then there's no need for a sporran. As for the other issue, find an Irish pub (they do exist in Spain, although I don't know if there's one in Lanzarote) and hang out there on St. Patrick's Day, so you won't feel out of place (and after a few drinks you won't care anyway).

Amazingly I did see a kiltie the other night in Puerto del Carmen. Lanzarote, I was sitting in a restaurant on the promenade when he walked by with a group of friends, he was a quite a tall older guy with grey hair and a beard, his kilt was not traditional tartan and he was quite casually dressed with socks at his ankles, i think that they may have been scandinavian from their accent. Unfortunately I was unable to talk to this gent but I wonder if he is a member of the forum

Monkey at Arms, I concur wholeheartedly. You took the words from my mouth, right - smartedly.

Gracious, with a name and address like yours who's going to argue?

See, we told ya so! I will note that the Marton Mills poly-viscose really comes into its own above 35 degrees. Either way, don't wear a belt if you can avoid it. Cheers!
