Threw in a Demo-Day, low-key competition on Saturday. It was a nice day, seeing as we had three new throwers out. Eighteen athletes showed and we did 6 or 7 events, depending. I didn't have a 56 pound weight so the Open mens threw the 42, which was impressive!
I had a nice Braemar toss, near my PR and then set that long-awaited 30 foot PR in the Open Stone. I was pretty happy about that! I turned the "Cardinal" Caber, which is my big practice stick. I've only turned it twice before, so to crank it over twice on Saturday was pretty cool. I even managed 80 deg on "The Whomper"...16 feet, 110 pounds. Everything else was fine, a little "off" but then it's the first Games of the season and we were throwing in deep sand for the hammer. turns out at the end of the day that I won the Masters 50+, but then two of the guys were coming off LONG off-seasons where they'd gotten hurt.
I might have a couple of pics, will post 'em if they get e-mailed to me..
