I also get my hair cut at a salon and yes I have worn my kilt to the salon on any number of visits. My hair dresser thinks it is interesting and has taken a business card from the maker to pass on to one of her friends who has talked about getting a kilt.

I've been kilted for all of my haircuts with my wife's different hair stylists here around San Diego. I usually get complements on wearing a kilt...

    Kilted at a beauty salon?
Always. My favorite stylist moved to a salon years ago, and I followed him there. The staff comments if I'm not wearing one. Plus they never have to ask who I'm there to see. They already know.

Tough enough stopping at the barber shop kilted. The fella that cuts my hair is a Polish emigre and he really doesn't seem to care a whole lot. The barber with the next chair over is a fella whose forebearers very obviously came from a Mediterranean country (the one shaped like a boot...) and I can see out the corner of my eye that he's really dying to make a smartass comment but is restraining himself so as to not insult a customer. Far as I'm concerned he can fire away...but it's kinda fun to watch him keep the lid on.

Yes, but a little care with the aprons and sporran while getting seated preserves the mystery. But this is an example of a when wearing some sort of undergarment is good for everyones peace of mind.

That is good information to know, Zardoz. I shall plan on going in for a pedicure some time in the future; though I don't know that I would be wearing a kilt.

As far as long hair, it started as a work related thing (don't have that job anymore) and I realized I could take care of my long hair without the beauty salon. The alturnative would be to comb my hair with a beard trimmer every morning, and I kind of like having long hair now. Usually wear it in a ponytail, or under my hat when I'm working in the trees.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

My regular barber is decended from the Isle of Mann and knows exactly what a kilt is and thinks it 's great that I wear one.

I have a client who ownes a high end salon and spa. I get shaved there and declawed (Mani - Pedi) , I get asked when I don't wear a kilt "what's wrong?". The gals love it and the guys (most gay) well lets just say....... they think I'm crazy! ith:
