Kilted in a Mexican Beauty Salon

Okay, so its at the tourist resort...the lady I´m with was ragging me about my hair so had some free time yesterday and stopped by the resort beauty shop for a shampoo and general trim....kilted in my USA Kilts Warrior tartan kilt.

Occured to me while I was there that there probably aren´t too many guys who´ve ventured into a beauty shop for services while kilted....???

Just checking emails to keep the mailbox open and thought I´d ask if anyone else has.

Been kilted full time here - exept when swimming. Getting all positive comments so far...the tourists ask the same questions we all get. The locals recognize the kilt as Scottish and usually mention Escotia.

Lightweight kilts have proven perfect for the hot humid clime here.

My travel companion says folks are asking her if I´m gay. If I had a chance to answer I´d tell them I´m too ugly to be gay....

Anyhow, a good time so far and back to it. Picies when I´m back home in a week or so.

There, there, Ron, we would find a place for you- even if it's honorary.

I've mostly only been kilted to the hardware, grocery, and shopping stores, and I rarely go in to get my hair cut. A while back one of my lady friends and I went to one of the manicure places, I had never been, and I'm trying to remember if I had worn a kilt or not... I don't think so.

Glad you're having a good time.

    Wink

Ron, I can't say I've been in a 'beauty shop" kilted, but the Asian ladies at the $5 cheapo place I get my head shaved at think it's cool.

I also go with my wife to get a pedicure (don't knock it till you've tried it) every couple months, and it seems to go over well with the staff and customers there too.

Then again, 99% the folks that work these places are speaking Vietnamese or other S.E. Asia dialects, so who knows what the hell they're saying!

Well I always wear a kilt when I go for a haircut. Not exactly a beauty salon here in Hawick but as there is no traditional gent's barber shop in town I usually go to a local salon where the female staff primarily spend their day cutting and styling ladies' hair. The staff and customers are always very positive about my kilts.

Been there...as the only place I get my hair cut is a beauty salon...guys do get their hair cut there but I think I am the only one who has gone kilted. I will ask the next time I go.

    Kilted pedicure?

Wondering about this. Does the pedicurist sit at your feet and look up?

Well, thinking about it, I don't think the eye level would be low enough to cause an issue.

And that's not to say that you wouldn't be putting your foot up on a short table or something like that.

Perhaps, I should go have a pedicure, one of these days, to find out.
    Sounds nice.
