To be honest, Chas, if it's not tartan or tweed it looks like a skirt to me. I'm quite liberal in most things and I find some of the innovations in Highland dress interesting, but I'm pretty traditional when it comes to the kilt itself. I have yet to buy my first kilt but I'm pretty sure I'll never own a Utilikilt or some other such garment - I'm not sure I'd ever own a casual kilt, either. I'm not gonna knock anyone who does, mind you, but they just don't seem right to me.
I guess you can figure out my position relative to the kilt wannabe in the OP. I have as much English as Scottish blood in me, but I'd never wear such a garment...well, maybe as an after shower wrap .
