Being from a part of the world where something from 100 years ago is considered old, I can only imagine what it must be like to be immersed in history like that, particularly something built by one of your ancestors. It must have been quite some 'indiscretion' to warrant an edifice like that!

The monastery was founded in 1178 but they kept addinng new buildings to the first ones until the French Revolution (1789).
