Growing up kilted!
I was a little inspired by the "How old were you when you first started wearing a kilt" thread... and my mom promising me a DVD compilation of all the pictures of me and my family in Scottish attire (which I've yet to receive--I'm hoping for my birthday). So here are a few of the photos I have of myself as a youngster kilted.
This is the earliest in this bunch. I don't think I'm yet one year old here with Chief Chinubby Macintosh (If I misspelled it, forgive me--I also think he was an tribe chief, not a clan chief). Taken at the Stone Mountain Highland Games in what would have to be 1986.

This one is at the Caledonian Society of Baton Rouge's 1992 Burns Night Supper. My dad is giving the "Address to the Haggis" and my grandfather stand on the opposite side of him. I'm of course in the little red jacket.

This was taken at another Burns Night a few years later. (Maybe the next year, I don't know.) I miss having a velvet waistcoat!

This one was taken at the International Heritage Festival in Baton Rouge. They were having a ceremony mingling water from all around the world. I'm in the forefront of course--and oddly enough with another Native chief.

This one is years later--but it's the next in line that I actually have. It's at a Caledonian Society of New Orleans Burns Night (I want to say the year before Katrina). It has three generations of Mungalls. My grandpa died this past year, so it means a lot to me despite the poor quality, my sagging off-white kilt hose, my too narrow apron, boring sporran, etc. But being that it was my first kilted appearance in ten years, I was doing OK.

I attribute my love of things Scottish to my Dad and my Grandpa. They've always supported the habit--and I've spent very little money on any of my Scottish gear as they've given me things new and hand-me-downs as they thought were good to give. I'm truly blessed.
These last two photos are of my Dad and I at the St. Andrew Society of Baton Rouge Spring tea in 2007 and the last photo of my Grandpa and I in February 2009 when he gave me his Scottish basket-hilted claymore.
