Peter may or may not have samples of the MacDonald tartan woven in Wilsons' colors which he can scan. I don't have any of the MacDonald tartan on hand, but to give you a visual reference, here is the Carolina tartan woven in typical modern colors.


Here is that same tartan woven in typical ancient colors.


(Both of those samples were woven by Lochcarron, at different times, by the way).

Here is a photo of a sample of the Carolina tartan which Peter hand wove in reproduction Wilsons of Bannockburn colors.


Lastly, here is a kilt and plaid made from cloth we had woven in those same Wilsons' colors.


Of all the colors schemes typically commerically available, House of Edgar's "muted" comes closest to Wilsons' old dye recipes.
