I'd like to add one last thing. I piped in pipe bands from when I was 8 all the way up till I was 22. I've been to a gazillion highland games and Richard is right...there are always those that do their own thing, if thats what you want to call it. I'd like to point out that while those of us that are actively involved with highland culture spot this immediately as being a mish-mosh, probably the other 99.5 percent of those that see this person have no clue and probably dig all the wacky things going on (Sword, pistol, big clunky belt, prince charlie). Its also been my experience that those that discover how much fun that wearing the kilt is, they tend to go overboard in the beginning not knowing that they may not be presenting correctly.

If the kilt is to be considered an article of clothing, then we need to let people wear them as they want. There are no rules for jeans! I agree that he looks ridiculous, but I also think that jeans sagging down to show your *** are ridiculous. I just don't get why some folks get their knickers in a knot over it! If the person asks for advise, give it freely. Maybe he wanted to really "shock and awe"
I've survived DAMN near everythingActa non Verba

That's all fine and dandy, but when was the last time you saw a guy walking around in jeans carrying a sword and brace of pistols? Even if it were legal, it would still be a tad ridiculous.
