Umm, if my memory still holds by the fringes, seems SportKilt has offered Aloha print Sportkilts for many years....maybe there's some kind of change in the pattern?

I think you're correct, Ron, as there is a note that says "back by popular demand."

I should show my wife. I keep pulling a Hawaiian shirt out and placing over me when I put my kilt on asking if she would be seen with me today like that. She insists there is no occasion when the two go together!

Well I already have tropical print swim trunks, so I think I'll pass. My wife would love one though. Glad her birthday and mother's day have passed.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Wouldn't these just be skirts?

Why? Because they are not tartan or solid colored? This is the modern kilt forum. We've seen plenty of kilts with different patterns over the years ranging from the ever-popular camo to TFCK's pinstripes. By definition all kilts are skirts, including traditional ones (though, of course, not all skirts are kilts.) Whether you care to wear a kilt made with an Aloha pattern, is a personal choice. Personally, I don't care for them. Simple answer, you don't like it, don't buy it.
Best regards,
Jake

I've had one of these for years. The one I have is called "Hot Lava" with a slightly different pattern than the "Red Lava" they now show. They are perfect around a pool, beach or cruise ship. Trust me.

I'm gonna have to look into that. Thanks for the idea.

I honestly don't see how this being the "modern" kilt forum precludes the question of whether or not this qualifies or rather deserves to be associated with the title "kilt". It doesn't really look like a man's garment to me... whereas a sarong with a similar pattern does. Perhaps it's conditioning: I've seen floral patterns on skirts all my life, seeing such on a "kilt" doesn't register as a kilt in my mind.
