The flap (and the interior reinforcing panels) are dyed with Eco-Flo all-in-one, then finished with a carnauba creme for a bit more shine. I may go to an oil dye for the day sporran... It's really hard to top a nicely oiled leather.
The full sized version will most likely have the flap covered with leather to match the bag's body. Although I do have a rather nice texture I wouldn't mind setting on the flap, but I may save that for the day sporran.
This smaller scale version had to have different hole spacings for the draw string, there just wasn't the space to have them placed as needed on the full sized one. Also, the folded top 'hem' of the bag was impractical on this one, and not really needed for my little pirate, but will be used on the final full sized bag.
