Weeel nowww if you want me to split a very thin hair, I would really prefer if his day jackets had gauntlet cuffs, but there we go.

Chaps don't forget that the Prince's mother does have a rather extensive pad in the Highlands and the Prince does have a splendid castle in Caithness.His late Grand Mother was from impeccable Highland stock too.

I feel for you, MacLowlife. I've had to come to terms with "it" not being my tradition that is being discussed, and I still end up reading about it.

I have to put aside reactions that bubble up in my mind, like "go eat your own national shoe," when these "what is traditional" threads come up.

Yes it is indeed personal style, but to continue splitting that very fine hair I, in all honesty, find the style of his day jackets to be borderline Highland. Now many would say that the Prince's jackets are modern Highland style and who am I to argue.

That's FEE NAY, as in THE END. I am fairly certain I looked in on this topic yesterday and today I find three or four pages of not very much at all.

What often frustrates me about the Traditional Highland Dress forum is that there are so few topics- and now and then way too many posts on the few that appear. I am genuinely grateful for everyone's opinions and edifying comments, but I would humbly request that someone introduce a NEW topic and let's see if we can throw a few rocks at it for a while. And while I am ranting, I'd like to suggest that topics addressed in the last six weeks be rotated off- i.e., check the search feature before asking any of these:
1) What's wrong with the PC
2) What's wrong with white hose
3) What color X should I wear with my Y
4) Why shouldn't I wear a ( jabot, bow tie, tartan tie, etc) with my ( day coat, PC, doublet, piping rig)?

Oh, and PLEASE consider actually placing a ghillie brogue in your mouth and biting down before asking / telling about their appropriateness, tradition, evolution, etc.
