Those are lovely, so much texture. Now I'm itching to start a cabled project *must knit grandma's sweater first*

tobus, those are great looking hose, and the entire outfit looks pretty well turned out.
String, only because we like you so much and want you to be happy, I will volunteer to allow you to knit a pair of cabled hose for me.

Beautiful hose there! And I really like those sort of ties, the sort I see worn with shooting socks. They're so much nicer than the usual kilt flashes.
If I had those hose made, though, I would want a wider turnover cuff, about twice as wide as you have there. I suppose I'm used to the "pipers socks" with the very wide turnover cuffs.

I'm confused, with email and cell phones are there enough cables being sent now-a-days for someone to do a cable project? Do you cut your cables into strips before knitting? How do you connect two strips? do you have to use transatlantic cables or will local cables work? Do you get you cables from Western Union or where?
I say this as I am starting a set of Hose adapted from Natalie Bursztyn's Midsummer Nights Dream Socks on Knitty

Vine up the front and a simple rib/calf expansion on the back. I hope I can be finished by the cool weather.
BTW - Tobus, those are great hose, do you know the weight of the yarn? They look worsted?
