Just like you, Ron, I too live in a small town out here on the Western Slope of Colorado. Folks are accepting, but still look at you funny. I'll get comments like,"Oh. you're the kilt guy." after being kilted out here for the past 5 years. There are some times when I don't wear the kilt and get asked, "What, no kilt today?" My students are more than accepting at school and I have gone to the last three Graduations at Basalt High School kilted. The only place I've not worn my kilt is to the local rodeos. There, jeans so tight you can read the labels off snuff cans in the back pockets are the norm (BTW I don't/can't wear jeans that tight). My cowboy boots and Resistol Gus Crease just don't cut it with a kilt. Maybe this year I'll break with tradition and go to the local rodeos kilted, we'll see!? So, yeah, people start to expect us to be kilted all the time for them.
