Bloomin' Sporrans
Found this in today's Scotsman on-line edition...
Actually, I think it's pretty clever and done right could be very attractive. Whether it catches on or not is yet to be seen.

Oh flowering symbol of Scotland...

BRIDEGROOMS wishing to add a Scottish flavour to their wedding now have the perfect accessory – a specially designed floral kilt sporran.
Women traditionally carry bouquets, but instead of donning the traditional buttonhole men can go a step further and have a spray of flowers on the front of their kilt as well.
Experts say more non-Scots than ever are choosing to get married in Scotland – 18 per cent more than five years ago – and many choose to wear a kilt.
The novel floral wedding sporran idea and a bespoke floral handbag decorating service is being offered by national garden centre chain Dobbie's, which is owned by Tesco.
Stylists will draw up designs after consultations with couples, with prices ranging from £20 to £75 depending on the choice of flowers and size.
Any medium or small-sized flowers can be used – including roses and the traditional Scottish thistle.
Dobbie's spokeswoman, Gail Sutherland, said: "Floral sporrans will be the must-have trend for anyone wearing a kilt at a wedding this summer.
"There's been a huge rise in people growing their own fruit, veg, flowers and plants so we thought why not go one better and design some floral wedding accessories."

I personally think I'd avoid this like the plague. ESPECIALLY the thistle. Who the heck wants to have a lap-full of thistle?

They were inspired by people growing their own fruit and veg, huh?
With that in mind, I think a fruit or veg arrangement sporran would be quite the conversation starter.

I could see it working, if you were the best man or otherwise a guy in the wedding party.
Granted, I can see it being a good time for all the wrong reasons, so I suppose I should say I think realistically it's a bit silly and honestly that's why we have a hole in our lapels, but...I'm envisioning a sort of cross between the rent-a-puppy commercial and Wedding Crashers.
...ALL the wrong reasons.

Sporran or not
This does not appear to be a sporran at all. Just flowers on a base. Other sporran designs have been done years ago which are more representative of the actual sporran design and purpose. I would avoid this at all costs. Dobbies (Tesco) does anyone think they are into Scottish culture. If anyone wants details on proper Thistle Sporrans let me know.
What growing fruit and veg has to do with sporrans no idea

Is that a carrot in your sporran or are just happy to... Oh, never mind!
