Having acquired a taste for the smokiness of Laphroaig and several of the other whiskys listed above, I find other single malts a little bland by comparison.

I tried Lagavulin this past Saturday for the first time...Wow!!! Certainly a powerful single-malt, but still surprisingly smooth.

Laphroaig is certainly my favorite with Macallan a close second. Quite a joy, eh? Enjoy.

    Laphroaig

Laphroaig is one of my favorites also.
If you bought a bottle which I'm sure you would have, there should be a pamphlet in the box. It has a code. Go to Laphroaig's web sit and lease yourself a plot that is yours for life. If you ever get to Scotland you can visit your very own piece of Scotland. Corny but fun.

Laphroaig is one of my favourite whiskies as well. I second McFarkus' suggestion to add Lagavulin to your research, as well as the other Islay malts. Add Talisker in there as well.

Laphroaig is one of my favorites, a good Islay all rounder (I really love the Quarter cask). Better still, Ardbeg, a smokier, brawnier whisky from just up the coast. When you think you have gotten the hang of Ardebeg, try your hand at Lagavulin, the King of the Islay Malts, and thus King of All Single Malts. It is big, smooth, smoky as an oak camp fire...and pricey. Taste it you'll love it, you'll want it all the time....you will be tortured by the $100 a bottle price tag....but it's worth it.

Laphroaig is fine whisky, and Abigail/Abagail is a mighty fine name for a beastie.

Abby thanks you for the compliment!

Mmmm...Latakia....I smoked a wonderful Latakia-heavy mixture last night.

Now, if you could just train Abigail to open the liquor cabinet, fetch the Laphraoig, pour it in a nice tumbler neat, and bring it to you without slobbering in the glass, that would be a nice feat. Good luck with that (but watch out---if she gets a taste of the Laphraoig she may not bring it to you but instead start drinking it herself).
