Being from Northern Virginia, let me welcome you to the forum.

Though as a MacDonald I'm not sure I really want to welcome any Campbell... .... but I count so many as friends I can't ignore one more, especially a fellow Woodbadger (I used to be a Beaver).

I'll second the recommendation for one of Matt Newsome's 4 yard box pleats. Not only are they less expensive then the "traditional" 8 yard kilt, they are better balanced and lighter in overall weight, which can be very important on those night Virginia summer days. I have two, with another on order, and I wore one of them a week ago on a very hot and humid day without discomfort.

However, there are several excellent kilt makers who advertise (and post) on XMTS, so don't hesitate to check them out before making a decision. You can get a relatively inexpensive 5 yard casual kilt from Burnett's and Struth - and last I checked they had a Campbell tartan or two on the sale list.

A good ole Beaver (me) too.

Thanks for the pointer to Burnett's and Struth. I'll check them out.
