    I second the compliments on matching the tartan. Firstly on the diagonal is not easy. Secondly I always appreciate matching the tartan accross the front division. The center front mark on the pattern is sooo much help for that.

    As for the higher V, I am used to making 19th century clothes. The neckline is usually higher until the end of the century. Take a look at the Kenneth Macleay portraits.

    Oh, but my good sir, it very much IS kilt kit. If you wore it under a formal jacket or doublet with the kilt made of the same material, you would have a most smashing ensemble. Use the search function, search the threads for bias cut waistcoat, and you will see an entire range of possibilities. You have done very, very well, sir! Congratulations!
