    Hard to find hose?

I need the rabble's help in finding hose to somewhat match the tan or grey in this kilt...

I have brown pair that work and purchased a khaki pair that has more of a greenish hue to them. Would like a true tan color or lighter grey that won't break the bank.

you might want to do a search for RAF blue or even lovat blue. I think either would work splendidly.

Is that one of the Stillwater "Weathered Lamont" kilts?
I had one of those, but I remember it having more brown. I didn't wear it much, so I sold it a while back.

I would wear Tan or Medium Grey colored hose with it most of the time. I'll also admit to wearing Cream hose with it once or twice! But really, other than being "washed out" colorwise, I thought the cream hose with brown flashes looked pretty good with that tartan.

I know what you mean about the Khaki hose, khaki usually has a hint of olive in it. Depending on the vendor, look for beige, tan, or stone colored hose, they should be the more "tan" shade. I have some from W.Brewin, which is a good source for reasonably priced hose.

Remember that several of us here can make you a pair of hose to your exact measurements and match the color as closely as possible.

    Try the College of Piping

They have khaki colored hose (listed as "stone" in the piper hose section, and as "light tan" in the colored hose section) and also a light blue that might work very well in the colored hose section.

Make sure you opt out of the VAT by clicking the check box when you checkout.

I've bought several pair of piper hose from the CoP, including the stone, and have been very pleased with them. Not to mention that by buying from the CoP, you're supporting a worthy cause!

How bout a khaki pair tinted a little toward reddish light brown? If that makes sense. Like the background of the picture, but more khaki and lighter color, less red.

Thanks all. I will check out your recommendations. And Zardoz... no. it's an ebay kilt. It was listed as Desert Watch, but I think it's a Black Watch variant. I just liked the colors and use it mostly for strolls out on the trails.

I have that kilt and wear khaki hose with it. It ought to match perfectly with a USGI desert storm jacket in either 3 or 6 color camo.
