The Muckle Clock is no more

The muckle clock in our kitchen which has featured in many of an xmarks photo over the years is now no more. During the last month we have had a brand new kitchen put in our cottage and unfortunately there is no room for it now. I still have it, so if anyone wants it they can have it for free and just pay for the carriage and postal charges.
A reflection pic of the muck not so long ago

And a few of the new kitchen ...

    That's a shame Derek.
I hope the clock goes to a good home.

    Derek,

I am still recovering from the shock, especially when one thinks of the number of photos that have been taken of kilted gents (myself included) with the famous Muckle Clock as a constant feature of permanence in the background. How many of us have posed for photographs in front of the renowned clock? It will go down in kilting history.

There are certain things that achieve an iconic status and the kitchen should have been modelled around the clock and not the other way around!

Maybe this would be a good place to upload photos to preserve the memory - Alex started with me and him with Derek and there will be loads more of others with Derek and Elaine in front of the muckle clock!

    snip....
Well I do have to agree w/ Trefor here; remodeled around the clock would have worked.

On the other hand - Congratulations on your new kitchen. VERY VERY nice!

I see a new clock...can we kinda get a Terry Pratchett/Nac Mac Feegle thing going here and refer to it as the "Somewhat Less Muckle Than The Muckle Clock But Certainly Larger Than The Wee Clock Clock"?

You remind me that I have a clock roughly the size of the Muckle Clock that's a design based on those by the great American Architect of Welsh ancestry, Frank LLoyd Wright and I have to find a wall large enough to hang it on. Wall space is precious...

    Anyway...nice new kitchen...what's for dinner?

We all want to know so we know what kind of wine to bring....

    Best
