Indeed, how do you look Scottish? I am also one-eighth Scottish. Not sure what my Scottish great-grandfather looked like.
I often feel that my beard makes me look Scottish. But my regimental sergeant-major once kicked me off a parade because of it (I had permission to be bearded, and I was kilted that day).

Drac, I once knew a woman surnamed Lamont who insisted on pronouncing it the French way (la Mont). I knew no better at the time, but I read much later that the name was of Norwegian origin, means “lawman”, and is supposed to be pronounced as Lamb’nt.
But if you use the French pronunciation, that is not something I should pick you out about. I have enough problems with my own surname ;-)

Yeah, I am actually a good deal more than a quarter Scottish. Could only get the lineage from the grandmother and couldn't find living relatives to tell me how much Scottish was from the grandfather's side but the quarter is definite through her and if history is to be believed, I am closer to half Scottish. But I still look more Yaqui indian than Scottish because of my father even though that percentage is far lower. Folks always tell me I don't look Scottish and I just want to ask them, "Well what would you like? A half drunk, red haired, pissed off, fighting, bagpiper, with blue face paint, who talks like James Doohan from Star trek?!". It is kind of silly what people expect vs reality somtimes.
