Very very nice. Thanks for the photos. I think the mini will get a great boost from this.

I guess I'm in the minority thinking a sporran on a woman is strange ;) I guess next step is to find out just how mini a mini sporran she wants...

And I thought my Clanranald kilt would be the best looking ever.

Please though, convince her NOT to wear a sporran. Go for a sporran style handbag if she must, but a sporran would ruin that one.

    Your gal looks fabulous.
I bought my daughter a Sport Kilt Mini (NOT an Ultra Mini). She loves it. And it garners compliments. (I'm watching those...gentleman.) :-|

I know from long experience(I have the scars to prove it!) it is a hazardous pastime advising a lady on what she ought to wear. As there are at least three thousand miles between me and your lady, perhaps I might be safe!

Your lady and her outfit are a delight to the eye and a sporran could only hinder the look. In passing, traditionally ladies do not wear a sporran but------------. Perhaps a neat sporran shaped shoulder bag would look just the ticket?

I was about to say the same thing.

When it comes to my experience (in the shop AND in life), on the whole, women are going to do what they want with fashion no matter what their man says (or doesn't say). It's better to keep my mouth shut and let them do what they're going to do than OPEN my mouth and get scolded and have them do what they want in spite of me.

That being said, I have seen many women wear a sporran with a mini kilt. While I DO agree that the man's sized sporran looks "off" with a mini kilt (it's WAY too big and takes up WAY too much space), a child's INFANT or TODDLER sporrans (the smaller 2) do look "cute" with a mini kilt. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I think it works for a non traditional woman who wants to wear a sporran.

I would never suggest trying a sporran with a Kilted SKirt. THAT would look odd at ANY size b/c the Kilted Skirt is a more traditional garment. The mini kilt is more "Fashion forward" and can be accessorized differently than the kilted skirt.

BTW... I'm not trying to "sell more sporrans" by saying this. It's what I really believe.

heh, I've taken to asking my wife what answer she's looking for from me which exposes her agenda pretty clearly. She of course finds it frustrating. I don't recommend this to others. My wife and I have a special relationship.

Completely agree with the look being ruined. A few years back, I knew a gal who wore what she termed a "wee mini" sport kilt(and actually participated in a sport wearing it, believe it or not), and it had a pocket built inside-accessed from an elastic section of the waistband. It was big enough to hold a cell phone of the day, car keys, and money clip. You would never know it was there, from the outside.

I have scars from this lass's sword already, so I feel your pain, Jock And I agree that the sporran would take away some of the look. As it stands, there's not really a lot of tartan there! A sporran would just hide what there is... the tiniest sporran Rocky offers might give her the look without too much hindrance. Still, a sporran is a masculine article to me, and I prefer it on men. I think it distracts not only from the lines of tartan, but the lines/curves of the lady herself.
