At the risk of reiterating my "***" above, it's not a DIRECT critique of the work itself. Heck, if he joined up here, I am sure we'd all welcome him and tell him his costume is a good first step and encourage him to purchase another kilt from (insert anyone's personal prefference here) and wear it out anywhere he likes. If he can't afford one, I'm sure just as many would chime in with polite suggestions how to improve his kilt in the video (tapering hips, sewing down the fell, centering a stripe on the pleats, apron width, etc).

It's the fact he's putting himsef out there as a kiltmaker and has gone to the extent to edit (pretty decently) a video and create it and put it in the public domain. Maybe if he titled it "Costume Kilts made easy" we'd have less of a reaction to it.
