I live in St. Charles, MO. I have played pipes for ages and am just now getting more into varieties of Highland dress. Previously, my kit was all band issue. My family has been in the States so long (15th generation on one side, 17th on the other) that I can't officially state my heritage other than "American" (and that's fine with me!). At least all of the surnames we have been able to trace for 150 years or so have all been generically British: Mac Oibicin (Mac AW-bi-kin), Morgan, Harris, Cook, Flynn, Bass. My grandfather learned to play pipes in England during the second World War from a guy named "Ross". He taught me as a child and I took it from there. I'm still an avid competing piper and Highland/Irish dress is becoming more of a related hobby.
Cheers -

"Seamus Mor Mac Oibicin" in my piping persona...
Greetings from just "down the road" (I-44) in Springfield! I'll bet we have some mutual friends in the St. Louis Scottish community!
