I wore the saffron kilt yesterday for the first time in public, and received many positive comments. Only one negative comment from a gentleman (if you could call him that) about it being "too cold to wear the kilt." It wasn't so much what he said, it was the negative way in which he said it, and the nasty look on his face. I just said, 'it's 65 and look at all these people in shorts!' One lady wanted to know if I was practicing wearing the kilt in preparation for next weekend's highland games.
The color is actually much brighter outdoors as opposed to being inside. I really do like it.
Funny, but so many folks thought it was a Scottish color and wanted to know when the "Games" were. In reality, our local highland games are next weekend in Ligonier, PA, and this was the town where I was wearing the kilt. I will NOT be wearing the saffron there...will probably wear my tank from Wally Catanach.
