I used to travel a lot and discovered that any whisky bottled outside Scotland needed to be approached with care. Some turned out to be quite acceptable, but others were not worthy of the reputation that came with their names. Apparently the license to bottle doesn't always carry with it some sort of standard assurance.

At home, however, I've yet to come across a malt I dislike so much I would turn down a repeat testing
