Nighthawk, your tagline for this thread was eye-catching, but hardly correct.
It ain’t no ugly mug – it’s a great-looking one!
And a second correction I have to insert as well (well, we can’t all be heraldry experts): that eagle is not a crest, but a coat of arms.
The crest is what sits on top of the helmet. Sometimes it is the same beast that appears on the shield, but since you clearly have the shield outline as well, it is definitely the arms.
Let me know what the chap you made it for thinks of it when you give/send it to him.
