You refer to the steam line as a “little railroad” – it looks as if it could be a 3ft 6in gauge track, which you folk in the US generally call narrow gauge, but for us in Southern Africa it is standard gauge.
Our narrow gauge lines (and there are only two left!) are 2ft wide.

2 feet? No kidding! That is narrow! Yes, the Cumbres & Toltec is narrow gauge. Standard gauge is too wide for the mountainous terrain. I should go to Chama and take some fall pictures. I think I'll do that next year!!
***EDIT*** I just looked through the thread again. The little railroad I was talking about was the Georgetown Loop. I say "little" because it only about a mile.
