You know, I found that the higher I stacked my empty beer bottles near the closet where I stored my kilt, the smaller my kilt got! I'm wondering if there was some defect in the wool.....

I ordered a modern Murray of Atholl last winter and it's great. So is everything else I ordered from them.

One small detail. I have worn a 38 suit coat for 40 years. It took a 40 waistcoat (which to my inexperience measures 38") to fit me perfectly.

My wife had them make a kilted skirt and was well pleased with it.

The finest of Scottish tailoring, I'm sure. Unfortunately, most makers of kilt jackets don't take the pear or barrel shape into account, even in the larger sizes. Which isn't to say you are that shape, but I am the latter, and I had a terrible time finding an argyle that fit.

I have a Higgins kilt from the mid-90s, so my information isn't very timely, but I've been very happy with it. It was my band kilt, and until I save the pennies for a new clan kilt, is the one I wear.
