I think you're right -- it's probably heavier than my traditional wool kilts, and now that you mention it, I'm sure it's stiffer.
I think I'll just go with some cotton fabric instead, since that's what the pattern is really for.
If I enjoy making it then I can always try some other fabric at a later date.
Exactly.
Look at it this way. After you've made an X-Kilt out of some cotton-poly twill, and you think you can make another out of the wool, you will be in a much better place to judge the appropriateness of the fabric.
