Welcome from a Whidbey Islander currently residing in the middle of nowhere.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Welcome from up Interstate 5 in Orange County!!

By the way, the Pasadena Scots Pipe Band wears the California tartan.

The Pasadena Scots kilts are all made by their Pipe Major, Jennifer Febre. I don't know of another pipe band anywhere who has a kiltmaker Pipe Major!

The pleating they use is very nice. Here you can see the back of one of the Pasadena Scots kilts, on the right:

L-r are Ancient Bruce of Kinnaird, Silver Pride Of Scotland, and California:

Here's a couple shots showing the Pasadena Scots, first marching into the competition circle at the 2010 Seaside Highland Games recently:

And here they are at the Queen Mary (yes the huge boat) Highland Games. The rear of the Pasadena Scots, standing At Ease, on the right. On the left their Drum Major, David Melton, can be seen leading another band as part of the opening ceremonies. In the foreground is a very interesting old set of pipes by RG Lawrie, Glasgow, being held by a member of the San Francisco Irish Pipers Pipe Band.
