Merry Christmas! I had an honor at church

I had just sat down for our Christmas eve church service, Lutheran, and our lady pastor came up to me to ask a question. She wanted to know if I would help serve Communion. I don't know if she asked me because someone didn't show up, or because of how I was dressed.

I had on my Bucleau tartan kilt which has brown's, black and green with a stripe of white, black kilt hose, a sporran with silver trim, a belt buckle that was iridescent and a white polo, short sleeve shirt. Most of the other people that have served Communion and know what to do weren't really dressed "that" nice. I have worn my kilt numerous times to church so that wasn't any thing new, but I was honored to have helped.

You don't have to be Scottish to be comfortable!

Assisting with Communion is always an honor, especially when kilted.

Happy New Year from one educated by Lutherans.

Perhaps she asked you because you are a fine, upstanding man and represent something for others to aspire to.

Perhaps it had nothing to do with your dress or someone not showing up. You could very well have been asked if you were in cut-off jean shorts.

Don't sell yourself short, my friend. You are greater than what you wear.

    Amen!

Something I wish many of the "kilt police" would remember.
