Hello, Berlin in Germany calling
Greetings from Germany to all members . The question is "Who am I and how did I get here" I come from a mixed background. My mother was Welch, my father English. After leaving school I joined the Army and served in a proud Scottish Lowland Regiment where we wore Tartan Trews (Clan Leslie). During my service I was introduced to the wearing of the kilt for occasions where we danced the reels. This was many years ago and the kilt was forgotten. But then disaster struck ! The British Government amalgamated the 2 remaining Lowland Regiments into 1 and with the other Scottish Regiments .formed the "Royal Regiment of Scotland" and ordered the wearing of the Kilt in the Government Tartan, known to all as the Black Watch tartan. So here I am being reunited with the Kilt. One problem remains, do I follow my ex Comrades and wear the Government Tartan or do I turn to my family background and wear the Kilt of the Welch St. David ??
But definately I am back to wearing a Kilt and proud. I hope to spend times with all of you. Till then, I remain, theborderer.
