That is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship! Congratulations to both you and Artificer. I've enjoyed following the threads of boths sides of the barter. Seeing the finished product makes me want to have one of my own made! Thanks for sharing.
(Edit: Drac is being generous when he says this is my design... It's actually a simplified version of his original trade sgian http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...h-trade-59006/ which I loved. I kind of dumbed down the handle and changed the shape of the blade a bit, but for all intents and purposes, it's a Drac.)

Beautiful! The line between craft and art is blurred. Well done.

Drac, since you aren't happy with the outcome I'd be happy to take it off your hands so that you don't have to look at it any more.

Sporran is fantastic.
Sgian Dubh is fantastic.
I am in awe of the skill and artistry displayed in these pieces.
Well done Gentlemen.

IMO: one sure sign of a real artist is that he's never truly happy with his work. He sees every micro-fault, every "what I could have done better", every "maybe next time". It's a self-torment. Luckily, it's also what fuels greater self-achievement. Not that it helps the individuals state of mind, or their temperance...
I can't wait to get my giant (much abused) mitts on this beauty.
Thank you again, Drac, for such a great trade. I hope the sporran brings as much joy (and envy from others ) as this sgian will.
Quoted for TRUTH! This is THE mark of a True Craftsman, even those who know what to look for see no flaws but he knows they are there and he vows to do better next time.
