Just to clarify, the reason I was asking for a more laymen answer to the whole thing is that I wasn't sure if this was accepted by all as complete fiction, or if it was similiar to scientology which has been taken from Hubbard and now has a standing, I suppose, among religions.

No. Fiction and roleplay. Of course, you never can tell with people. There may be cults out there that do worship Cthulhu and..shh..hastur(he who shall not be named), as even the most pedestrian fictional mythology can attract converts, be it Cthulhu or the Force.

My apologies then. As mentioned it is complete fiction. The Cthulhu 'mythos' has, however gained something of a "cult" following (get it? cult? I slay me) among gamers, comic book, science fiction and fantasy readers otherwise known as nrdz.

Here is the ultimate expression of evil -
Cthulhu rides to reek havoc upon his dragon steed while the other half of evil, Barny matches next to him -

That was excellent! Made my day too... When I'm teaching today, all the kids will wonder why I'm chuckling. (Or laughing manically).
