Because! This is the kilt advice section of the forum, I am seeking advice whether or not there are situations that would allow for wearing vibrams and a kilt. However, I think I noted somewhere along the line it would be mostly when hiking...

Since my daughter has danced ballet for the past 18 years or so, that is what first came to my mind also. I could just imagine her en pointe wearing a kilt.

Actually, there was a thread, not too long ago, with a kilted ballet dancer, if I remember correctly.
* Not saying he was wearing point shoes, though.
Here's the link.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

lol. I agree with Alan H. I have to ask though, you say the shoes are for camping but you don't like the UK style, which has camping written all over it. I can't think of a better kilt to go camping or hiking in (my own opinion, of course). I respect your view, though, and offer this advice. When camping, hiking (especially if climbing) I think it's fine to wear them, or even if going very casual. Heck why not? The kilt is only a piece of clothing and you can wear whatever you want with it! Wether any of us like or don't like it doesn't matter. You don't need to impress us, only yourself!
