    Kilt shoes

Is it ok to wear sneakers and a t-shirt with a kilt? I'm really not into the whole formal kilt thing, I go for comfort.

Oh yeah anything goes. I prefer combat boots myself. About the only thing that might not look good is cowboy boots. Although somebody did post a pic.

    C M,

Take a look at this thread where various members of the forum have posted their best casual kilted outfits. It may help you figure out the right look for you (just don't post anything there without a photo).

I tend to wear black work boots, but I tend to wear black work boots with everything.

Not if you're going to a formal event, they're not. In a casual setting however, opinions will vary. Some will say "no, never, unless you're at the Games". Some will say "sure-go ahead". Personnaly, I don't wear sneakers with my kilts, but I have no problem wearing mine with Chaco sandals and a Tee to play frisbee golf, or fishing.

Bear in mind that a kilt, even if you dress it down, will appear much dressier than you might think. You might well tick off your gal if she feels she needs to change before you go out for a beer and a burger. I'm not kidding: wait untill it happens to you (by the way, don't laugh; it'll just make her angry).

I like these. Croc Islanders. Leather uppers, with Croc soles. Comfortable in ways you wouldn't believe. As a bonus, they look a bit like brogues. They can be dressy, well, in a sense, and they can be extremely casual. I dare you not to like them once you try them.

Mine has pirate doodads I popped in. As a bonus, they are w-i-d-e. My EEEE to EEEEE foot fits in there with a bit of room to spare.

I think a casually worn kilt is well...sexay! I've been trying to tell him it's okay to wear a t-shirt with a kilt.

So sorry! I thought you were against the t-shirt and sneakers. Celtic Menace listen to Dirka Skene, she knows what she's talking about!
