A few years back, I was getting a monthly infusion of stuff in a big cancer hospital. Problem was, it was scheduled for Burn's Night - and I was attending the city's premier Burns dinner. Went to the hospital wearing the full fig - astonished looks all around from the many very sick patients and their families waiting for their chemo, then got hooked up to a portable unit and took it away with me. It took a few hours to run though and at this particular grand place I found a private room, unhooked myself, and took my place at my table with none the wiser. I know well - because I'm on it - chemo is NO FUN. Dig deep and endure - the kilt will make you stronger.

I'm Kilting up for you. I am going to wear a kilt today in honor of you. And everyone who asks why I'm kilted I'll tell them because I'm pulling for a friend going through cancer treatments. I wish the best for you. I had basal cell carcinoma and kicked that. And I have had many friends and family loose to the battle of cancer. Keep the fight strong and keep your kilt on!!

As always, early treatment is the key. Check out proton beam treatment as well. Helped a friend of mine; he's more active than I.
Here's to your speedy recovery.

Ron,
I am not familiar with Hairy Cell Leukemia but my dear baby sister has Chronic Myelogenic Leukemia and it is also one of the easier ones to deal with. She had 7 days of chemo (hers was a pill she could take at home) and there's a pill she'll have to take every day for the rest of her life but they assure her it should be a long one. It's a good thing my brother-in-law has good insurance because without it that daily pill costs about $3500 a month!
She used to hate getting older but when she hit 40 last year (a little more than a year after diagnosis) she realized it was a good thing. She still doesn't like telling her age but it doesn't bother her as much as it used to.
If my sister can beat it a tough guy like you should have no problems at all!
Prayers coming your way,
Brian
