How can you think about your hands when your nuggets are slowly crystalizing. Looking good brother!!! I really like that tartan.

I'm searching Amazon right now for the "Action Man Maple Leaf Kilted Snowshoe" kit! GI Joe will just have to gnash his little plastic teeth in envy!

My hands were toasty warm at this point. I worked as a mountain/snowshoe guide at Cypress for a number of years - it was my favorite "office" . There is at least one other X Marker who also snowshoes kilted at Cypress. Maybe it is time to form the Westcoast Snowshoe kilties club.

Heading to the upper warming hut. I fondly remember the winters spent setting up and maintaining this trail.

Looking back at Hollyburn Lodge. The only way to get the lodge is by snowshoes or crosscountry skis. Throughout the winter live music fills the lodge on a Saturday night. The peak over to the right was the site of snowboard events at last years Olympic games.

The upper warming hut - a good place to warm up and fuel up.

inside the hut....aaah a lovely fire. A great day at one of my favorite spots
