Kiltmaking does not usually use a pattern, but rather an algorithm (recipe). The most comprehensive reference for traditional kilts is The Art of Kiltmaking. It's available from Highland retailers or from the Web site. You'll find many references to it throughout the Xmarks Web site. Co-author Prof. Tewksbury is a regular contributor here.
