Hand Knit Kilt hose?

I will have custom knit kilt hose available for sale shortly, but at this time I won't be doing argyle because I know I could never reasonably charge for them what they are worth in time and skill.

Over the weekend, I have discovered several ways NOT to knit the argyle (diced) kilt hose. I've been knitting over fifty years, lots of intarsia and knitting in the round, many socks, but combining all these techniques is very challenging.

The hose- knitting pattern with the Folkwear kilt pattern: The calf works out to just 9.5 inches in diameter. My beau's wrist is bigger than that!

I have $80 worth of silk & cashmere sock yarn, so I am am definitely continuing to work it out.

I'd really appreciate a reference to a chart (like on graph paper) for the dice. The ones I have seen are too large for my taste.
