If I'm reading correctly, you are running a sporran chain? Try going with an all leather strap, that helped me.

Zardoz I use a leather sporran strap but one of my band mates wears a chain and we were talking about this problem.
I just sketched out a concept. I'm going to my local leather worker tomorrow to see if we can make this a reality.
I am also going to try passing my strap through the kilt straps and see what that looks like.

I don't have belt loops on my current kilt so using belt loops to hold the sporran up isn't a option. I also HATE sporran hangers. For what ever reason I just don't like the look.

Does anyone else have this issue? What do you do? I
Am currently designing a solution but wanted to see if I am over thinking things.
Running the sporran strap through two "belt" loops at the back of the kilt means the sporran can never slip lower than the position you have set by the length of the strap/belt. If your kilt doesn't have these, I would have thought it a fairly minor DIY job to make and fit them. I too am not so slim as I once was, but have never had a problem?
