In the back of the logbook are some reminders for the Quest.

" 1) The Quaich and this logbook should arrive to you packed in a mailing box cushioned with foam. If the Quaich should ever become damaged, if the logbook should ever become worn, or should become full, please return it immediately to Steve Ashton at:
    X Marks the Scot
    1919 Fernwood Rd.
    Victoria, BC
    Canada V8T 2Y6

Also contact Steve immediately if the shipping box or packaging foam become unusable. He will send you replacements.
Via phone ***.250.386.5458 or email: steve@xmarksthescot.com

    2) We ask that no one keep the Quaich for more than two weeks at a time. As soon as you know the Quaich is on its way to you please begin thinking of who you will send it to next.
We also hope that you will begin planning where you wish to take photos of the Quaich's visit with you. Please remember that the Quest is to share this Quaich with as many people, in as many places as possible. Create a post in the Quaich's thread of your plans so other members in your area can arrange to share the Quaich and sign the logbook. Please remember that some members may need to make plans for a trip or arrange time off from work to join and share the Quaich, so give them time to make their plans.

    3) When you share the Quaich please remember to take photos for posting on the forum. Also please remember to have everyone who you share the Quaich with sign this logbook. Each person should sign their name, and if they are a member of the forum, their forum username.
At each stop start a new page. At the top of each page please note the date, location. and the post number where your photos are so our members can reference them and marry the photos up with the scans of the pages which will be posted each year when the Quaich returns to Victoria.

    4) When you are redy to ship the Quaich to its next destination please pack it carefully and securely in its box. If necessary, wrap the box in shipping paper and affix shipping and return address labels, and the appropriate postage to the next destination. If you incur excess international postage costs please retain a copy of the receipt and contact Steve Ashton.

    5) Please treat and respect the Quaich and logbook as if they were valuable museum pieces. Over time they will become something more than just a piece of pewter and some paper. They will become a part of the history of our forum. The travel worn Quaich and the names contained in this logbook could never be replaced.

In the spirit of the reminders to the Quest, the Quaich will begin its journey here in Victoria this weekend.

Its next destination (Going in a westerly direction) will be with CDNSushi in Japan.

    Calendar for the Quest?

Is there a way to set up a separate calendar for the Quest so we can "at a glance" see it's progress? Or is that just laziness on my part?

Also, how does one go about becoming an actual 'destination' on this journey?

    The quaichs are gorgeous, btw...!

That is a magnificent quaiche, Steve. I hope my name and destination gets on the list. I'll certainly host a Great SEKS gathering for a mass sampling of the aqua vitae from the quaiche.

Yeh! I was just asking Steve about that yesterday.....followed by me at the various shops in town trying to come up with a good packing solution for the quaich and its logbook.......

Does anyone out there know......the "box" guy in town said styrofoam was frowned upon in Europe, and we might have a problem shipping there if we used foam.....?
