Fine pictures of a fine event, to be sure.
As the Quaich makes its way 'round the world, I hope it has a chance to stop near me.

They say timing is everything.
I had been visiting this forum for some months as a guest, and last week I finally decided to join. That was Wednesday. On Thursday, my husband got “the call”: from Freedom Kilts – his new kilt was ready! Quick re-arranging of plans, and on Saturday we found ourselves on an early ferry from Vancouver, BC, to Victoria. We arrived at the FK shop early afternoon to find not only a gorgeous kilt waiting for us, but also much activity: a gathering of X-Markers was just beginning, and the debut of the Quest! You could feel the buzz in the air. My husband (roalco – who will introduce himself shortly I believe – with pics of the new kilt, of course) looked fantastic (of course) in his new kilt, and before we left we viewed the Quaich and were invited to sign the log book.
The sense of community that I have felt as I have visited these pages was palpable as we signed the log; I had been an official member for mere days, and yet felt a welcome worthy of an old friend. It was an honour to wish the Quaich well on this Quest.

I am very proud to announce that on Friday the Quaich was packaged in its protective foam and send on its journey to Japan where it will be hosted by CDNSushi.
Fare thee well, Bon Voyage.

Make that "drinking someone else's whisky" and I'm with you
I'm cooking up an idea to coincide with the 2012 Ventura Games (gotta plan these things well in advance!). Is the Quaich booked for the first weekend in October 2012? If not, please pencil us in and stay tuned. . .

Steve, thanks for posting the pictures, and hosting the big debut / send-off of the quaich. I can only imagine the many far flung places that it will visit, and the good will that will be shared qith a wee dram in the process. I hope one day to get to host the quaich here and thus add my tale to the logbook.
