Scarring the leather is probable. You can always re stain the scarred areas and call them battle scars sustained against the Anglish.

So I have finished up all major portions of this project. Not everything went according to plan, but it still turned out pretty nice I think.

    Stuning!

I can't imagine taking that into battle though, wouldn't want it to get dinged up.

That is a work of art, that is. Well done indeed!

Aye, only as a last resort. I mostly make these for the art of it. They are fully functional though.

Wow!! Somehow, I missed the pics of the finished product... That came out beautifully! I love the 3 different color tones! And if you don't mind me asking, where do you get your nails? I've used furniture nails, which look nice enough, but the ones that you've gotten are beautiful!

Thanks Nighthawk, this targe is hanging in my office at home for now. It's really kinda of addictive making these things. I'm starting to think about new designs and getting an itch to start a new project.
As for the nails, they are all "old brass" finish upholstery nail. I ordered them from a online upholstery wholesale outlet. They have many dome and shank sizes to choose from. I'll look them up and send you a link.
